At MoEngage, I designed and scaled a push notification engine from 2 million to over 350 million notifications daily, simultaneously processing approximately 700 million events per day using Kafka/Samza. This robust system involved architecting the backend and ensuring high availability and performance across various campaign types.
At Goibibo, I was fully responsible for the design and integration of a comprehensive payment backend system, including seamless payment flows for web and mobile banking. This involved integrating multiple payment gateways (Citrus, Adyen, E-merchantpay) from scratch and building features to monitor and switch between gateways for optimal success rates.
During my time at Goibibo, I led a 4-member team responsible for flights API integration, booking processes, and performance improvements. I was fully accountable for integrating the new flight booking page, which was designed for easy extensibility to other modules like bus and hotel bookings.

As Director of Engineering, I led multiple teams and was fully responsible for all push notification campaigns, scaling the system from 2 million to over 350 million notifications daily and processing 700 million events. I significantly grew the team from 3-4 to 30+ engineers, oversaw architecture, design, and implementation for critical features, and spearheaded the initial backend application codebase.
In this role, I designed and architected the complete push notification flow, responsible for sending millions of pushes daily, and revamped the ORM layer for the application. I implemented a Transaction API from scratch for client campaigns, set up an automated release process, and actively managed AWS infrastructure including EC2, ELBs, and Auto Scaling Groups.
